Editorial & Accuracy Policy
This policy explains how Just Freeze Drying creates and maintains its content: where information comes from, how it is reviewed, how evidence is labeled, how calculations are handled and how errors are corrected.
Sources
Content is built from the sources below. Not every page uses every source type: a food guide may rest on general principles and practical experience, while an equipment page leans on official manufacturer documentation. Each page's evidence label reflects what that page actually draws on. Nothing is cited as a source merely to sound authoritative.
Manufacturer manuals and official equipment documentation
Model-specific operating procedures, safety guidance, electrical and vacuum targets, maintenance and error codes. When content draws on a manufacturer document, it is labeled Manufacturer Guidance and the brand or model is identified where practical.
WeFreezeDryIt testing and batch records
Results from real batches run by the organization behind this site. Only documented records are ever labeled Measured, Observed or WeFreezeDryIt Tested, and none are published yet on this site.
Practical operating experience
Hands-on knowledge of running batches, loading trays, troubleshooting problems and handling real foods, described qualitatively and honestly.
Accepted food preservation principles
Established, broadly accepted background on why freeze drying behaves the way it does, treated as general guidance unless a stronger source is identified.
Reliable external technical sources
Published technical reference material from established sources, used for background and cited only where the content actually depends on it.
External laboratory results
If an outside laboratory ever performs testing for WeFreezeDryIt, the results are clearly labeled External Lab Result and are never implied to be internal work. No external lab results exist on this site yet.
Evidence Labels
The site uses a small set of evidence labels applied sparingly, always as text with a matching color, never color alone. Labels that can be shown today:
The following labels are reserved for real, documented evidence. None of them appears anywhere on this site today, because no WeFreezeDryIt test record and no external lab result has been published yet:
- Measured is defined by the Lab methodology and will only be used when a genuine record exists to back it.
- Observed is defined by the Lab methodology and will only be used when a genuine record exists to back it.
- External Lab Result is defined by the Lab methodology and will only be used when a genuine record exists to back it.
- WeFreezeDryIt Tested is defined by the Lab methodology and will only be used when a genuine record exists to back it.
Review Process
High-Priority Pages
Safety, equipment, storage, shelf life, vacuum, food safety, manufacturer-specific content and calculators. Reviewed regularly and updated whenever new verified information or working records become available.
Evergreen Pages
Lower-risk general education and food guides. Reviewed less frequently; still corrected immediately when an error is reported or found.
"Last Reviewed" Dates
A review date is only printed when a genuine review actually happened. No pages carry one yet, because no formal review has been recorded.
Manufacturer-Specific Content
Equipment pages and any content touching settings or maintenance are treated carefully. Generic pages stay brand-neutral; they explain principles and never invent machine-specific values. Where an exact value does come from a manufacturer, it carries a Manufacturer Guidance label identifying the brand or model where practical, and the site's standard note applies everywhere:
Lab Data & Calculations
Lab data follows the Lab Methodology: something is only labeled Measured or Observed when it was genuinely recorded during a real, documented test. Calculations are always labeled Calculated or Estimate and are never presented as measurements. The distinction is explained in detail on the Methodology page and the About the Data page.
The Freeze Drying Lab is currently and intentionally empty: no test records are published because none exist yet as verified records. Nothing is fabricated to fill it.
Corrections
When an error is identified, we verify it, correct the content, update related calculations where necessary and preserve any real Lab records in place. Material corrections are documented internally. The full process, including how to report an error, is on the Corrections page.
Update Frequency
Pages are updated as needed when new verified information arrives, when a documented test is published, or when a correction is made. There is no fake freshness: dates are only shown when they describe a real event, and no page claims to have been reviewed or updated on a date when it was not.
