Freeze Drying Lab
The Freeze Drying Lab
Explore real-world freeze-drying experiments, batch results, yield data, rehydration tests, product observations, and lessons learned from WeFreezeDryIt.
Real Tests. Real Data. Real Results.
The Just Freeze Drying Lab documents actual freeze-drying tests performed by WeFreezeDryIt. Measurements, observations, calculations, photos, and rehydration results are separated clearly from general freeze-drying guidance.
This is a real-world process testing and documentation program, not an accredited analytical laboratory. Every value on these pages is tagged with its source: Measured, Calculated, Observed, or General Guidance.
How Data Is Labeled
Four Data Categories, Never Mixed
Measured
Directly recorded: weights on a scale, cycle time on the machine clock, temperatures from a probe. The raw evidence.
Calculated
Derived by formula from measured values, such as dry yield as a percentage. Always labeled Calc, never passed off as a measurement.
Observed
Human assessment: texture, color, rehydration feel, powder behavior. Practical notes, not formal sensory-panel data.
General Guidance
Educational background from the wider Just Freeze Drying library. Never presented as Lab data.
Search the Lab
Searches product names, Lab IDs, categories, aliases, test types and machine names. Every experiment receives a permanent ID when it is published.
No experiments match yet
The Lab has no published records yet. Experiments will appear here as genuine WeFreezeDryIt tests are documented.
Latest Experiments
Lab Data TableNo experiments published yet
Records will appear here as genuine WeFreezeDryIt tests are documented.
Browse by Food
Filter experiments by the food tested, using the search box above. Food filters are generated from published records, so nothing is listed until a genuine test exists.
No foods with published experiments yet
Once real tests are documented, each food appears here as a filter, never as an empty page.
Browse by Category
Categories are filter options only. Each one shows its records when real tests exist.
Browse by Test Type
Every experiment is labeled with the kind of test it was. None exist yet, so every type honestly shows an empty state.
Test Areas
Dedicated tracking for each kind of result. Records appear in each area only when genuine tests are documented.
Rehydration Tests
Water added, ratios, temperature, time, final texture and result.
No records in this area yet
Powder Tests
Grinding behavior, particle fineness, clumping and powder handling.

Packaging Tests
Barrier packages, oxygen absorbers, seals and storage behavior.

Batch Comparisons
Side-by-side views of two genuine experiments, differences only.

Experimental Data
The structured Lab Data Table: Lab IDs, weights, yields, cycle times and test types, with export controls.
Open the Data TableHow We Test
Lab methodology and transparency: how results are measured, calculated, observed and labeled, and what the Lab is and is not.
Read the MethodologyThe Lab ID System
Every published experiment receives a permanent Lab ID: JFD-LAB-0001, JFD-LAB-0002, and so on, in the order the test was documented.
Permanent, Never Recycled
Lab IDs are assigned sequentially and never recycled or renumbered. If a record is corrected, the correction is applied under the original ID. A re-run of the same product is a new test with a new ID, because it is genuinely new evidence. No IDs have been assigned yet: the system is ready, but no genuine records exist to assign them to.
Test Statuses
- Complete The test ran, the critical results were recorded and the record is published in full.
- In Progress The test is running or the record is still being assembled. Results are not published until verified.
- Follow-Up Planned The test finished, a follow-up run is planned because something needs another look.
- Incomplete Data The test ran but critical results were not captured. It is published only with what is missing stated clearly, and is never marked Complete.
Lab Toolbox
Calculators, logs and records that support real testing: calculate derived values, log batches that can become Lab source records, and compare runs.
