Freeze Dryer Buying Checklist

Print this checklist and work through it with the official manufacturer materials in front of you. Every item is a verification, not a guess: prices carry a date and source, specs carry data labels, and anything the manufacturer does not publish stays on the checklist as an open question, not as an assumption.

Your use

Intended use is clear: home storage, snacks, pet food, small business, service or production. Weekly fresh volume is written down in pounds or kilograms. Product types are listed: fruit, vegetables, meat, meals, pet food, purees, liquids, candy, powders.

Capacity and sizing

Practical load per batch is estimated from your own batches, not the rated max. Tray count and tray dimensions are confirmed from the manufacturer. Total tray area was compared for your tray-area-limited products. Batches per week and machine hours were run through the capacity matcher.

Electrical and room

Electrical requirement is confirmed with the manufacturer for my region. Room temperature guidance is confirmed from the manual. Ventilation and clearance are planned, with manufacturer clearance honored. Pump exhaust and drainage paths are planned. Noise impact on the household is thought through. The space planner estimate fits the chosen room.

Pump and maintenance

Pump type (oil-sealed, oil-free, integrated, external) is confirmed and understood. Oil or filter maintenance is included in my routine and budget. The maintenance schedule is read for this model.

Support and parts

Warranty duration and coverage are confirmed in writing. Phone or email support is available for my region. Replacement parts are listed for the exact model. Manuals are available from the official source and were read.

Money and logistics

Price was confirmed on the official manufacturer site, with currency, date and source. Temporary sale prices are kept separate from list price. Shipping, installation and any electrical work are quoted. Ownership cost estimate was run with my assumptions. For Panama buyers, importing and voltage questions were reviewed.
