The Formula
- One-time costs = purchase price + shipping + installation + electrical upgrades.
- Annual costs = maintenance + pump oil and filters + electricity + room cooling, each per year.
- Estimated total = one-time costs + (annual costs x expected years).
Important Limitations
- The result is an estimate based on user assumptions, not a quote, a guarantee or financial advice.
- It ignores inflation, financing, resale value, taxes and repairs beyond the annual maintenance line; add them as separate lines if they apply to you.
