Cost per Package Calculator
This tool finds the true cost of one finished package. Use it either from a whole batch (total batch cost divided by the number of finished packages) or from unit costs (cost per gram times the net weight per package), then add the per-package costs of the bag, absorber, label and labor to reach the true cost per package.

What the Result Means
The true cost per package is what one finished package costs you to produce: the floor for quoting, the denominator for the pricing calculator, and the tool for checking whether a package size is economical. The Formula
- Base (batch mode) = Total Batch Cost ÷ Number of Finished Packages
- Base (unit mode) = Cost per Gram × Net Weight per Package (in g)
- True Cost per Package = Base + Bag + Absorber + Label + Labor per Package
Important Limitations
- This page stops at true cost: it deliberately does not compute a selling price. Margin and markup belong to the pricing calculator, where the two concepts stay separate.
- The batch mode divides the whole batch cost evenly, which hides per-package differences like one heavy or one light package.
- Add-ons are only counted when entered. Forgetting the bag cost makes the true cost look lower than it is.
- Cost per gram only works if that number already includes the full cost of the finished product: build it with the Cost per Finished Product calculator.
